I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC, and wanted to add a Wi-Fi ability to it.
I have a Dell TrueMobile 1300 USB Adapter, so I tried to connect it to the desktop.
Windows didn't recognized it. I searched really hard across the internet - but couldn't find a proper driver to this device.
The only related thing I've found is a UTILITY from dell site (over here: dell-truemobile-1300-pcmcia-driver-download.html
- but still - this installed only the Utility, not the driver. The adapter still stays 'Unreconized' on my computer.

I have a recently rebuilt D600 running XP Prof XP3 full patched. The machine was a clean build on a new disk about 2 months ago and all has been working well (excepting the Fujitsu HDD which seems to be going bad as I type, but that's a different issue!).i was offer via Microsoft Update: 'Dell driver update for Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card' 2 days ago (mid August 2009). This is a Dell supplied update distributed via MS. Also offered (and installed) at the same time was 'Darfon - Other Hardware - Bluetooth Devices'. Since installing these (and the installs reporting as completing correctly) I keep getting:Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller encountered a problem and needed to close.and Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller has encountered a problem and needs to close.rror dialogues. These pop up every 30 seconds or so and seem to be related to the Dell TrueMobile 1300 update.Looking in the Windows directory there is no uninstall directory for this update unlike the MS updates. So I now either need to:get the updates to work properly Remove the updates and get back to a working condition if you wonder why I applied the updates...why repair something that's already working...I have had Bluetooth sporadic connection issues with this laptop with a BT GPS unit. The same BT GPS unit works perfectly on a D610 but on this D600 after initial connection there can be repeated connection loss requring the BT GPS unit to be moved around, after which BT connection is re-established only to fail a while later. As the same GPS works without problem with the D610 my presumption has been the issue is a BT stack issue on the D600 BT implementation.

I have Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop. I just wiped and reinstalled the xp. But I don't have the drivers. XP w/ SP 2 won't pick up the integrated 10/100 network card and modem.

I went to above link to download the driver from dell but I don't know which one to download. There are different kinds and all I know about my card is it's 'integrated 10/100 network card and modem'. But I don't see this specific driver. For the wirelss card, I know exactly what it is and it works fine.(Intel (R) Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN miniPCI Adapter) But not the integrated 10/100 Port.

I have an Inspiron 8600 with a Dell wireless 1350 WLAN mini card. It operated perfectly with a Belkin 54G router but when we changed to a Plusnet Thomson Gateway router I started to lose the signal for about 20 seconds every few minutes. I complained to Plusnet who replaced the router. I have never been able to connect wirelessly since installing this piece of junk. After trying for three solid days I contacted a technician at Plusnet who tried all the usual tricks, even taking over full control of my laptop, without success. He is going to contact Thomson to see if there are any compatibility problems with the Dell 1350 adapter as there are known ones with other Dell adapters.
I suggest Plusnet should not supply this router and further reduce their charges so that customers could supply their own trusted versions.

Dell Inspiron 1525 / No Network Card Installed Despite Correct Drivers?

i reinstalled Windows Vista using the disc that came with the Dell Inspiron 1525.I then went to the dell website, downloaded and installed the 2 network drivers. So now the internet works with a cable but the network card is still not showing up.How is the laptop still not recognising the wireless card? Are there any additional drivers i need?

I just installed Windows 7 ultimate 32bit on my Inspiron 1520 and everything works brilliantly except the bluetooth!I downloaded the drivers from the dell website, for vista 32bit, when I try to install the driver it says 'Press Fn+F2 or turn on the wireless switch'.
The wireless switch is already on, and I press Fn+F2 and nothing happened. The driver worked fine on Vista Home Premium 32bit.

i have a dell inspiron 8600 running windows xp. the issue is it will let me connect to other wireless networks but not mine. i try to connect to mine , i enter my metwork key and it says please wait while windows connects. then after 30 seconds or so the box goes away and under connections mine is listed and says automatic but i am not connected. i have tried everything, even manually setting up network and entering network key and still nothing. oh n i know it isnt my router because i have another laptop connected to this network already and works fine

I have new Inspiron 1720 running Vista with the Dell wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card. I will be connected to the wireless network just fine, but it will then disconnect. My problem is I cannot re-connect to it without having to do a total restart. I go to the place to refresh the list, and it finds nothing. I ask it to repair the network, and it can't becasue it cannot find a network. I have at least 4 other networks in the area that I can normally see, and none appear when I hit the refresh button. But I totally restart the system, and everything works fine again (until it drops again).

My wife has a Dell Inspiron 1300 which crashed. I was able to start it again using the Dell Operating System Reinstallation CD for XP Professional but the wifi (wireless) does not work. basically a friend of mine gave me his old dell inspiron 1300 because my other laptop died.
It was running really slowly, and still is, so I cleaned the registry, defragmented, all sorts of things, I also started to download updated drivers for the system. Since I downloaded the broadcom update my wireless has been utterly useless, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting by itself, its really annoying. I guessed it could be the laptop not liking the update so i uninstalled it, but it still has the same problem.
We have other laptops and devices connected to the wireless so it's not that. oh! by the way here are any laptop details you might need.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 which crashed, service tag . I was able to start it again using the Dell Operating System Reinstallation CD for XP Professional with SP1, that came with another computer. I then installed a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 and Internet Explorer 8. However the wifi (wireless) does not work. I went to setup and assured that it is enabled. I cannot connect my Dell Inspiron 1300 through the NetworkManager 'wired' connection, when I try to go direct to the cable modem. It fails to connect. If I connect the cable modem to my (linksys WRT54GS) wireless router, and then connect my laptop to a wired port in the router, it connects in seconds, successfully, This has happened to me 2 other times, when I tried to connect my laptop to a client's cable modem, because my client did not have a wireless router available, in their home. My wireless works fine. This has me perplexed. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and NetworkManager Applet 0.8, I've tried some things to see what is going on, such as 'ifconfig' 'dhclient' as well as modifying the 'Auto eth0' parameters and adding my laptop's MAC address, etc.

I am trying To get my Wi-Fi to work by pressing FN+F2 however it is not working, the Bluetooth icon appears instead which doesn’t work either.I have tried to look for the wifi adapter in the device manager, but it does not exist in the list.I understand that I have to install the drivers.
